Just in case you don’t have time to click the link I wanted to post a quote after the list that has helped me in a variety of ways.  ”  Most of us have deeply embedded ideas about what’s right for education,” says Speicher.  “But when you look at the world of education through the lens of design, you start to see that there isn’t one right answer, there are many.    Quote from Sandy Speicher from

I find that often we get stuck in one way of doing something and and forget there are many ways or many ways to get to an answer.  This is especially true with teaching because of testing / standardized testing.  In college I often tutored people in physics only because the teacher over complicated the work (I worked 3 jobs and didn’t want to tutor and already was required by an organic chemistry teacher to tutor because 80% of the class was failing).  I was frustrated that many students were unable to grasp basic concepts because there were so many other simpler ways to teach things.  Once students understood the basics they could start playing around with getting to the answer in other ways.  I had to figure out quickly how the students could learn and then pick the best route they could understand to grasp the material.  Anyway, this quote helps me to not pin my students down and expecting only a certain final product if others might be okay and helps me remain open minded and realistic.

Hi Terry.  Do you have a link to this project?  I would love to see how it turned out.
