Is the 2Day Design Workshop an annual event? If so what is the project this year? |

The wildcards are wonderful, I did not remember them from your presentation. These wildcard prompts remind me of the Oblique Strategies of Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt, (http://stoney.sb.org/eno/oblique.html) I have been eager to use these but they are often very esoteric. I could rewrite a set taking more contemporary cues from teen culture. |

I cringe whenever a business rep or corporate type has, what they think, is valuable information for teachers on how to teach better. FourSight makes some wonderful points, however Sarah Thurber’s classroom voice would have her run out of any classroom I have taught in. The better material from FourSight is the Diverge Converge video. There are many great sports coaches that use similar theories/techniques with more physical and movement related examples, in my experience the athletes in classrooms are often some of the first to join and contribute to creative team exercises. |

Meredith Davis’ presentation was wonderfully insightful and offered a context for many of the methods I use as a teaching artist. The methods she outlines combine very well with many of the methods Sister Corita Kent used in her assignments particularly those contrasting imagery and text captions/written content. Here is a link to the Corita Kent site:https://www.corita.org/education.html Sister Corita Kent’s 10 ‘rules’ (https://www.corita.org/component/content/article/21-information-in-education/19-corita-kent-art-rules.html) are ideal for preparing any classroom for the SDI projects. The 10’rules’ are a more nuanced and engaging starting point than the How Might We video. Meredith Davis’ presentation was the one I found most engaging and insightful of the SDI presentations. Her use of tangible examples and interesting sidebars is masterful, and enhanced the impact of her presentation. |
